Cushion Foams

Cushion House Australia supplies a wide range of foams for our custom outdoor cushions and indoor cushions. Our cushion foams can be cut to suit any custom cushion design, shape or size, provide long-lasting comfort and support, and are suitable for a variety of residential and commercial applications.

Foam Types

High-density comfort foam

Our high-density foam is a popular all-rounder foam that offers excellent support to help maintain maximum comfort for years to come.

Backed by a ten-year warranty, our high-density comfort range provides a firm feel and is most commonly utilised in seat cushion and back cushion designs.

The foam has been treated with a protective shield to prevent antimicrobial growth, making it suitable to use in outdoor areas that aren’t fully exposed to the elements.

As with all our foams, our high-density comfort range is 100% Australian-made and uses the latest VPF technology to ensure a clean and green product.

High-density comfort plus foam

If you’re looking for a soft foam with a bit of bounce, look no further than our high-density comfort plus range.

The comfort plus is the next step up from our high-density comfort range and is recommended foam choice for commercial cushion applications

It is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications that are not fully exposed to the elements and offers exceptional bounce back even after years of use.

100% Australian and environmentally friendly, our high-density comfort plus range is also backed with protection against microbial growth, a high fire-retardant rating, a lifetime warranty for domestic use and a ten-year warranty for commercial use.

Reticulated quick-dry foam

Reticulated quick-dry foam is ideal for cushions that will frequently be exposed to the outdoors.

Designed for maximum resistance to mould and mildew growth, its open cell construction means that it won’t absorb liquid like standard cushion foams.

Reticulated quick-dry is the perfect cushion foam for furniture that will experience constant outdoor use.

Foam Features

Dacron wadding

At no additional cost, Cushion House Australia adds a layer of dacron wadding to all of our custom-made cushions. Dacron wadding provides a soft layer of protection between the cover and foam, greatly increasing the overall product longevity and comfort levels of our custom-made cushions.

Comprishield™ technology

All our foams incorporate Comprishield™ Anti-for maximum microbial protection. Comprishield™is a natural, sustainable, bio-based microbial control solution derived from coconut oil. The exceptionally clean and green properties of this product make it the best choice for our customers and the environment.

Comprishield™ offers protection from dust mites, reducing the impact of one of the major causes of allergies and asthma. It also offers one of the most comprehensive and persistent antibacterial odour protection treatments on the market as well as providing mould and mildew protection.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified

Our entire comfort range is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. OEKO-TEX® certification is a signal to consumers that they can be confident in the safety of the products they’re buying. OEKO-TEX is the International Association for Research and Testing of Textile and Leather Ecology.

Frequently Asked Questions

What dimensions do you use for your custom cushions?

Depth (Thickness)

  • Depth is the top to bottom measurement of the cushion.

  • As a general rule, the thicker the cushion, the longer the cushion will be able to provide comfortable support.

Length

  • Length is the front to back measurement of the cushion.

  • Remember to measure both the front side and back side of the cushion as some cushions can have variance.

Width

  • Width is the left to right measurement of the cushion. A zipper will also be placed along the width of the cushion.

What do I need to measure if I’m replacing a cushion?

When replacing a cushion, the first thing you need to understand is that standard cushion sizes vary greatly.

It’s close to impossible for a cushion manufacturer to craft a replacement cushion without first obtaining accurate cushion measurements. Therefore, your ability to measure your old cushion correctly is pivotal in determining the fit of your final product.

Here are some handy tips to help you measure:

  • First and foremost, familiarise yourself with cushion size charts so that you know exactly what you need to measure.

  • Remove the cover from your old cushion and place it down on a flat, smooth surface.

  • When measuring, we recommend using a straight-edge ruler or measuring tape.

  • Measure the length and width of the cover from seam to seam. The sewing seam provides the most accurate measurement.

    • If your cushions are rectangular or square, the full dimensions would have been measured correctly through the seams. However, for T or L-shaped cushions, the greatest width and length of the cushion should be measured first, while the front portion of the cover is measured ear-to-ear later.

What cushion fabrics do you have?

Cushion House Australia only utilise the very best, trusted Australian fabric brands such as Warwick and Sunbrella for our custom-made cushions

We’re always adding new cushion fabrics to our range, but if you can’t find exactly what you want, you are welcome to send us your own fabric for your custom cushion. However, if you do decide to use your own fabric, we do advise that you are certain it is a suitable piece of upholstery fabric.

All of Cushion House Australia’s fabrics have been thoroughly tested to ensure they are hardy, fade-resistant and mildew-resistant.
